How to Read the Simulation

This isn't just a brightness slider. The visualizer renders specific artifacts based on your settings, just like a real sensor:

  • ISO (Sensitivity): Crank this up to see digital noise (grain) appear in the shadows. Great for low light, bad for clarity.
  • Aperture (Depth of Field): Watch the background particles. Low f-stops (f/1.4) create bokeh (blur), while high numbers (f/16) keep everything sharp.
  • Shutter Speed (Time): Slow speeds cause motion blur (the particles stretch horizontally). Fast speeds freeze the action.

Two Ways to Learn

1. Auto-Balance (The Triangle) Drag the dot inside the triangle. This mode forces you to compromise. If you want a faster shutter speed (bottom right), you must sacrifice either ISO or Aperture to maintain a balanced exposure. It visually demonstrates the "Zero-Sum Game" of light.

2. Manual Mode (The Sliders) Use the sliders below the visualizer to break the laws of physics. Adjust one setting without changing the others to see what happens when you overexpose (blow out the highlights) or underexpose (crush the blacks). watch the Light Meter at the bottom—aim for 0 for a mathematically perfect exposure.
